De dor să mor nu vreau.

Mai bine-astept în braţe să te iau.

Şi noaptea trece-va uşor,

Gândind că n-o să mor de dor.

Iar când în braţe te voi strânge,

Abia atunci putea-voi plânge.

Şi plânge-voi de fericire

Că pot să-ţi spun de-a mea iubire.

I do not want to die of longing.

I better wait to take you in my arms.

And the night will pass easily,

Thinking that I would not die of longing.

Only then could I will cry.

And I will cry with happiness
