The Blacksmith…
Many years ago, in the times of war, there a blacksmith lived. The most skilled and proficient blacksmith in making weapons. A man with a heart of gold and lights in his eyes, but full of worries and fear.
This man had five children. Two girls and three boys. Being war, his sons were to be taken into the army, and he wanted to forge a medallion for each one where to put a part of his soul.
He spent days and nights to create those medallions. He also spent days and nights thinking which one of his virtues to put in every pendant, according to the needs of his children. Eventually, he decided, being sure that he knows what is important.
To his eldest son, he offered the strength and the courage needed to face the fate.
To his second son, he offered the intelligence and the prowess to make the right decisions.
To his first daughter, he offered the beauty and the pride that is needed to a young woman.
To the other daughter, he offered the boldness and passion, to worn her to the heights of happiness.
Before he could give to his youngest son the last pendant, the boy died, and the blacksmith remains like an empty vessel… He didn’t know what to offer him and it was too late, anyway…
In a stormy night, sitting on the porch, the blacksmith saw a small figure coming towards him. He ignored this, being stuck in his thoughts and in his longing for his son. Soon, the figure turned out to be a little girl. It was a beautiful child, who lived a hard life, living among strife and icy people… For several nights he took her in his home and, talking with her and liking her, he has thought to offer her the last medallion. He asked the child:
– What do you want, little girl?
The child, very sure of herself and with a warm smile on her face replied:
– Peace and love!
In that moment, the blacksmith understood, by the girl’s purity, that the most precious treasure of the soul is love. He found out then that love gives you peace, power, passion, hope. He learned that all human virtues depend on what you wear in your heart. A man who loves can have everything, can be happy, peaceful and confident. When you wear love in your soul, you can’t hurt anyone.
There is no treasure more precious than a sincere love, tender and full of courage. Love is accompanied by beauty, prowess and all that is more beautiful in people. Love is not selfish and boastful, it’s not tiring and petty.
It’s flawless.

Did you make up this story?? It’s wonderful dear. It’s kind of crazy that I read it just now. I have a little peace symbol tattoo with a tiny red heart within it. Today as I was walking home from the gym, there were a bunch of guys unloading furniture from a truck. So I joked with them as I walked by. As I passed them, one of them happened to notice my tat on my upper shoulder, which is surprising because it’s really pretty small. He said: you must be an old gal with that peace symbol. So I shot him a peace symbol with my fingers and said: Peace love. Just like your story… You and I are always in sync! xoxo
