15 and Pregnant

Hi! I’m Grace! My blog is Sea On A Sunny Day!

I started my blog so that I could get my unique story heard. I would like to be able to help anyone who might be in a similar position as I am.

Recently, almost a year ago, I got pregnant. I’m only 15. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to give my baby the best life so I decided to go with adoption.

My aunt is not able to have children anymore due to complications with her first, and only, pregnancy. My aunt and uncle originally wanted a huge family. They had been thinking about adoption for a long time and just never got around to it.

Grace-02When I got pregnant they said they wanted to adopt my baby. They would let me see him whenever I wanted. I could be in his life as little or as much as I would like. And when he got old enough I could even choose if I wanted him to know that I am his biological mother. The baby’s father could even see him whenever he wanted if he wanted.

I automatically knew that this was by far the best option for me and my baby. It would have been easier than finding some random family, and this way my family and I would be able to still be in his life.

At school, I experienced a lot of hate. A lot of people called me names. I eventually left public school and switched to cyberschool.

My son, Greyson Jeffery, was born June 24th at 4:33 am. He is healthy and happy. It’s been hard, not having him with me after carrying him around for 10 months. But I have seen him a lot already and I know that this is the best option.

  2. Please don’t let him be a LDA – late discovery adoptee – talk to your family about raising him to know he’s adopted. LDA’s have the hardest recovery once they inevitably do find out, and they will. It’s best for the child thanks to what we now know about closed adoptions and secrecy. I recommend ‘Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew’.
